Road tax
It seems there is a lot of talk about this Road Tax that is wanting to be introduced. With a petition setup by the government on a web-site, and nobody told. One, which strains to take the load.
Pay as you go driving, seems a little strange, but there is method behind the madness. It makes sense, charging people for what they use, instead of blanket charging everybody tax.
But am I the only person who thinks this is going to have a devastating effect on the economy? With every delivery truck and postal van being charged. Suddenly nobody will be able to afford to post anything, and the cost of products is going to rocket. I can't imagine any business absorbing the price of road tax. They are simply going to pass that cost down to the consumer.
What international businesses are going to produce goods in the UK, if they have to pay a premium to get them out to the rest of the world. Cheaper to build elsewhere and only import the minimum.
If it does look like it's going ahead, I'll be out the job, as my company thrives on large numbers of vehicles being on the road at anyone time. Preferably crashing into each other.
